Zermatt, Switzerland
Situated above the tiny, picturesque town of Tasch in Switzerland, the resort of Zermatt combines three individual mountains to offer an incredible quantity of skiable terrain. Its altitude also affords it more reliable snow and a longer season than most European resorts, stretching from late November through early May (although some of the expert routes don't open until January of February).
An unbelievable network of lifts and railcars covers Zermatt's territory, which offers everything in abundance: spacious cruising runs, moguls, fresh powder and extensive off-piste trails. A variety of lessons is available for all kinds of learners, while Zermatt's apres ski scene would be hard to match anywhere.
