Description

Mountain Rooms & Chalets is a small privately owned accommodation specialist in the world famous ski resort of Val d’Isere in the French Alps and we are now recruiting an Assistant Resort Manager for the winter season!

Your main role will be to work with your operations colleague to set up, run and administer our winter rental programme in Val d’Isère to include weekly and seasonal holiday lets. You'll also be in charge of setting up and managing the day to day operations and close down the resort at the end of the season.

Before the start of the season you'll prepare staff accommodation for their arrival in conjunction with your Manager and Head of Housekeeping. You'll also type up inventories for seasonals as checked by Head of Housekeeping in preparation for arrivals. To undertake the check-in process of seasonal clients to include accompanying them to their rented accommodation, carrying out an inventory and taking meter readings.

During the season you'll assist the Resort Manager in the office and deal with clients who need attention, take ownership and be responsible for up and downstairs of the Hub in terms of tidiness & cleanliness.  You'll also book restaurants or services (i.e. massages, facials, activities) for clients on request under our ‘Concierge Service’ and issue maintenance job sheets to Val Service when necessary. At the end of the season you'll carry out check-outs for seasonal accommodation including visit, inventory check, deposit refund form completed and assist Head of Housekeeping shut down all weekly properties.

Requirements

  • Experience of a ski season is essential, either having worked for a chalet company in any role or previous operations experience. 
  • Spoken and written French is useful but not essential.
  • Customer service background
  • Attention to detail for checking cleaning essential.
  • Cleaning experience a must.
  • Computer literate crucial. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Good memory is essential.
  • Flexible approach.
  • Full clean UK driving licence and willingness to drive in the snow.
  • The job may require working unusual hours if a client has a problem outside normal office hours;
