Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food and meals to a high standard. 
  • Following correct food portion controls. 
  • Tidying up food preparation areas after they have been used. 
  • Washing and cleaning utensils and dishes. 
  • Disposing of kitchen rubbish correctly. 
  • Be able to operate the Point of Sale (POS) and take phone orders 
  • Making sure that all sinks are kept clean and free from grease and food debris. 
  • Sweeping and mopping up floors. 
  • Handling food deliveries if required. 
  • Delivering food to the front of house staff if required. 
  • Adhering to all aspects of licensing law, trading standards, food hygiene and health & safety. 
  • No drinking alcohol while working 
  • No eating food from kitchen prep areas 

Work hours:

As Lava Lounge is open seven days a week 5pm to 11pm. Last order is 10:30pm for food. The head chef will create schedules for kitchen staff. You will be expected to be available 5-6 days a week unless otherwise agreed to prior to hiring.Hours will vary depending on the time of seasonand how busy the restaurant is. Prep work starts around 3pm for some staff and typically start going home after 8:30/9pm.

Requirements

  • Prior Kitchen experience is desirable.
  • Must be eligible for a Japanese Working Holiday Visa
  • Fluent English speaker- Japanese and Mandarin speakers desirable
  • Must be passionate, professional and dedicated to ‘going the extra mile’

Lava Lounge Pizza was set up as an alternative to the other thin based pizza companies and devised to meet the growing demand for delivery pizza. The pizza is similar to a Californian style pizza and the restaurant follows a volcanic theme.
