The Chalet Company is a small company with chalets based around the Meribel region in the 3 Valleys, France.  Our chalets are rented on a weekly basis to ski and snowboard holiday makers, as well as being used by our sister company, SnowSkool, to provide catered accommodation for clients completing a 11 week instructor training course.  

We are looking to employ mature, friendly and highly organised Chalet Chefs / Managers for the winter season. You are expected to take full responsibility for looking after and running one of our chalets and ensuring our guests receive 1st class service.

You will be the “leader” in the chalet and we are looking for individuals and couples/2 friends. The role will certainly be challenging but ultimately extremely enjoyable and rewarding!

The role will involve menu planning, preparing and serving breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals, for up to 16 people, as well as keeping the chalet spotlessly clean.

To be considered for this position, you must be a great cook with a passion for food and a good repertoire of of dishes – they don’t all need to be super fancy, just great quality and super tasty! You must also enjoy working in a customer focused role looking after a diverse group of customers. Great service costs nothing after all, but is the difference between an average ski holiday and an amazing holiday!!

You need to be prepared to work hard and manage your time, amongst all the fun time you will have skiing – the cleaning still needs to be done!!! Finally, you must be flexible and prepared to put your hand to anything to make sure the job gets done – we are a small team after all!


  • Passion for food
  • Previous catering work experience and/or recently completed cookery course training
  • Highly organised and good communicator
  • Excellent standards of cleaning and hygiene
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm and be diplomatic
  • Extremely conscientious with high personal standards
  • Self-confident
  • Hold a valid British/EU passport and UK bank account 
  • Previous chalet chef experience or hospitality experience
  • French speaker
  • Hold a full, clean driving license
