Description

Driver/ Maintenance

We are searching for a Driver/Maintenance person to be one of our main Airport/In resort drivers and to help maintain our chalets and hot tubs. The Driver/Maintenance Role is super important to keep the Winter season running smoothly and efficiently!

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Airport transfers
  • Maintenance in the chalets
  • In resort transportation of guests
  • General help in the chalets

Airport Transfers

Our main transfer days are Satruday and Sunday when you will be required to do 2 trips to the airport, you will most likely have to do a trip or 2 mid week when we have short break stays. You will be responsible for looking after your van, keeping it clean, full of diesel, checking oil & that water is filled for wipers.

Maintenance In The Chalets

There are always small things going wrong and we need a Mr or Ms Fix It! we aren’t talking about fixing major leaks or electrical problems but things that typically need fixed are:

  • Shower hose breaks- needs replaced
  • Plug socket comes away from wall
  • Wifi issues- need to call Orange and reset box
  • Broken shelves
  • Hot tub- issues
  • Dishwasher faults (blocking, error messages)
  • Blocked sinks
  • Broken headboard and chairs
  • Grout needs replaced
  • Vacuum cleaner need deblocked

We need someone with good general DIY experience who can use a hammer, a glue gun, sander, pair of plyers and above all their brain to diagnose the issues and fix the problem at hand.

In Resort Service

Our in resort service involves shuttling the guests from the chalet to the slopes in the mornings from 8.30 to 10.00 & afternoon pick ups from the slopes from 3.30pm onwards. As well as actually driving the guests you will need to organise the guests in a nice but efficient manner so that the service runs as smoothly as possible.

General Help In The Chalets

General help in the chalet means helping the chalet hosts with tasks such as setting the table & serving both breakfast and dinner. Serving guests canapés and aperitif prior to dinner, clearing tables & washing up. Maintaining hot tubs, setting the fires & snow clearing.

In Resort Service

Hours /Package

  • Competitive monthly salary paid through the French system (in euros)
  • All food while working
  • Morzine-Les Gets-Avoriaz ski pass
  • Ski hire for the season
  • Uniform
  • A €150pp travel allowance for your return travel to Morzine
  • Reach4thealps will also organise and pay for team events in the season, typically night sledging, cross country skiing and or a meal in a mountain restaurant, an important way to say thanks and to come together as a team and just have fun!
  • We also have high standard, well located accommodation that is available for rent though our sister company at a lower rate than the market average.

 

Training

Successful applicants will be offered a place on our winter training
course commencing in early December. Reach4thealps will pay for your accommodation, all food and will pay for the costs of the training provided by trained chefs & our management team. On completing this course you will be given a contract with Reach4thealps and pay will begin after the completion of this training week.
The employee will need to pay for their own insurance to cover their free time, skiing & personal belongings.

DUE TO REGULATIONS FOR DRIVING IN SWITZERLAND FOLLOWING BREXIT & FRENCH EMPLOYMENT RULES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

* EU passport holders

* British passport holders/other nationalities with French residency which is called a Titre De Sejour which allows them to work in France (who have already been working in France for a minimum of 6 months).

Requirements

What kind of person are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who have the relevant driving experience/qualifications required but above all someone who is capable of managing their time and prioritising jobs particularly when it comes to the maintenance as these issues need to be resolved quickly, so we need someone who understands that some days will be easy and other days will be busy.

  • Have a “can do” “no problem” attitude
  • Have a clean driving licence & be over 23 years for insurance purposes

All drivers must now have either a professional driving qualification such as a Rospa qualification or 2 years professional driving experience, (the 24 months can be split over 10 years, so an accumulation of experience) as long as we can have a letter of proof from a former employer/s to say the job involved driving in a professional capacity.
