Description


As a Reception Assistant, you will play an integral role as the main point of contact for our guests. Utilising your creative and organisational skills and your fun enthusiastic nature, you will work in a team to ensure both children’s and adults’ dreams come true. You will also use your expert knowledge of our product to inform them about optional excursions that can be booked with you in resort. This requires you to be well spoken and articulate in front of both large groups of people and with individuals, but always with a friendly and approachable manner.

You will working closely with the housekeeping team to ensure efficiency and task are completed for guest satisfaction. You will also work closely with the Safaris Office to perform administrative duties related to your role such as scanning and sending booking forms, printing of schedules and informing guests of any information they may need. A good grasp of the resort logistics is vital to your role; therefore you will work closely with the office throughout the season. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Welcoming guests upon their arrival at the hotel and offering an excellent standard of hospitality throughout their stay.
  • Being the first point of contact for any questions or queries guests may have.
  • Daily administrative duties relating to the job role.
  • Taking payments for bills upon check-out.
  • Ensuring that you are visible and accessible and show a presence throughout the hotel.
  • Prompt and efficient in solving any guest issues.
  • Assisting Representatives with promotion and booking of optional excursions.
  • Retrieving all guest related health and safety documents.
  • Undertake any training and professional development as and when required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be determined by your line manager. 
   

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of one year’s experience in hotel reception or similar customer facing environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written & spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, point of sale systems, and stock control.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Possess a hard working dedicated attitude with a passion for the travel industry.
  • Team-player, with ability to build and maintain strong, trusting, working relationships.
  • Keen problem solving skills and a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced working environment.
  • EU Passport.

Desirable:

  • Experience in use of RoomMaster or similar software.
  • Previous experience of working in a seasonal resort.
