Description

The Role

Dinners on our holidays should be a real highlight and as a Chalet Chef, dinner time is your chance to show off your culinary skills. Our Chalet-Hotels sleep up to 35 guests, with dinners often for around 40 people. The Chalet Chef works very closely with the Chalet Host daily, and as such, the Chalet Host/Chef positions are open to, and very suitable for, couples and pairs of friends.
We are especially keen to hear from Chalet Chef/Host couples who are interested in a summer season in the Italian Dolomites also.

Key Responsibilities

As the Chalet Chef your main responsibility is for preparation of a three-course meal, 6 evenings of the week along with preparations of any packed lunches our guests have ordered the night before.  You are also responsible for all aspects of kitchen; including adhering to HACCP protocol cleanliness and compliance at all times.  Weekly stock takes are imperative, allowing you to economically plan a 12-night menu and place appropriate weekly food orders from a wholesaler. Daily bread orders are also made each evening.  There are also some simple daily admin tasks to carry out such as recording the number of covers and packed lunches produced each day.

Your main responsibility as the Chalet Host is acting as the front of house for one of our two Chalet Hotels, providing genuine hospitality and help to our guests. You will also work very closely with our Chalet Chef in assisting to produce a wholesome 3-course evening meal 6 nights a week whilst acting as a front of house for one of our two Chalet-Hotels.
In doing so, you will be hosting breakfast each morning, 6 days a week assisting any guests with last minutes questions about their day’s plans. After breakfast you will be in the kitchen assisting with any food preparation or helping to clean the kitchen.  There are also a few small administration jobs to be done each day, including the number of evening covers and packed lunches produced each day.
