The Role
Dinners on our holidays should be a real highlight and as a Chalet Chef, dinner
time is your chance to show off your culinary skills. Our Chalet-Hotels sleep
up to 35 guests, with dinners often for around 40 people. The Chalet Chef
works very closely with the Chalet Host daily, and as such, the Chalet
Host/Chef positions are open to, and very suitable for, couples
and pairs of friends.
Key Responsibilities
As the Chalet Chef your main responsibility is for preparation of
a three-course meal, 6 evenings of the week along
with preparations of any packed lunches our guests have ordered the
night before. You are also responsible for all aspects
of kitchen; including adhering to HACCP protocol cleanliness and
compliance at all times. Weekly stock takes are imperative,
allowing you to economically plan a 12-night menu and place appropriate weekly
food orders from a wholesaler. Daily bread orders are also made each
evening. There are also some simple daily admin tasks to carry out
such as recording the number of covers and packed lunches produced each
day.
Your main responsibility as the Chalet Host is acting as the front of house for one of our two Chalet Hotels, providing
genuine hospitality and help to our guests. You will also work very
closely with our Chalet Chef in assisting to produce a wholesome
3-course evening meal 6 nights a week whilst acting as a front of
house for one of our two Chalet-Hotels.
In doing so, you will be hosting breakfast each morning, 6 days a week
assisting any guests with last minutes questions about their day’s plans. After
breakfast you will be in the kitchen assisting with any food
preparation or helping to clean the kitchen. There are also a few
small administration jobs to be done each day, including the number
of evening covers and packed lunches produced each day.

Experience cooking - To a ‘dinner party’ standard (around 40 people)
A love for food - Ability to produce excellent quality home cooked meals, create a two-week menu
inspired by local dishes, willingness to cater for all special dietary
requirements, children’s supper when required.
Team Player - Positive energy, hard work, and a eagerness to get stuck into a
range of day to day domestic chores. Create a positive and dynamic
relationship with Chalet Host.
