Ski Resort Guides

Baqueira, Spain

Baqueira-Beret is located in the Val d’Aran region of the Spanish Pyrenees at an altitude between 1471 and 2510 metres . It boasts 156 km of slopes and 5.5 km of ski routes with 28 ski lifts.

The resort splits into three separate areas that each have a distinctive character and appearance. Nucleo opened in the 70's, followed by Ruda with its modern hotels retail gallery. Tanau sits on the hillside with rustic stone buildings overlooking the valley.

There are a few beginner level slopes but the area mostly suits intermediate level skiers. But on a good powder day there are some good challenges for advanced skiers on the upper bowls of the resort, especially above the Lacs de Baciver and above Argulls.

Things get really lively at weekends when there is a regular influx of skiers from Barcelona and Madrid. There are a huge number of tapas Bars throughout the resort and popular nightclubs include Club 7, Eth Clot, Eth Com, Elurra Disco and the Vielha Dance Club.
