Filzmoos, Austria

Filzmoos is a small village situated in the Austrian Alps below the Gosaukamm mountain range and near a mountain called the Bischofsmütze (Bishop's Mitre).

Filzmoos is a small tranquil village boasting tranquility and unspoilt nature for those looking to getaway from it all.

Unlike a bustling sports resort, it’s small size makes Filzmoos the perfect location for those with love of skiing, allowing for safe ski journeys thanks to the large amount of space on the pistes. That is not to say that there is not plenty to do, with a multitude of activities available including cross country and back county skiing, snowboarding, winter walks and horse-drawn sleigh rides. There are a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars, serving up plenty of local produce, even having a culinary claim to fame, with top chef Johanna Maier, awarded four chefs hats, serving up food at the Hotel Hurbertus. If you fancy a trip, then the village is not too far from the Dachstein Glacier or the City of Salzburg.
