Niseko, Japan

Famous for the quality and consistency of its powder snow, Niseko comprises four interlinked resorts - Grand Hirafu, Hanazono , Niseko Village and Annupuri. With stunning views of Mt Yotei, Niseko resorts sits at 1308 metres within the Hokkaido region of Japan.

Each winter an average of around 14 meters of powder snow falls across the resort area. This can be explained by thee west to east flow of cold air that is blown from the Siberian tundra over the relatively warm sea of Japan, in such a way that it sucks up moisture along the way to form dense clouds. Niseko is positioned directly in the path of this wind, and the combination of moisture, cold air, and upward lift caused by the wind hitting the mountains of Niseko creates Niseko’s famous dry powder snow. There are over 47 kms of groomed slopes.

Niseko welcomes vistors from all over the world and english-speaking guests and season workers can feel at ease there. Nightlife is most vibrant in the bars and clubs of Hirafu Village.  Popular bars and clubs include Powder Room, Tamashii Bar, Moon Bar, Jam Bar and Wild Bill’s.
