Saalbach, Austria

Saalbach is the second-most popular destination in Austria (behind Vienna, the capital) and has a charming and traditional town centre with a vibrant atmosphere. Its breathtaking ski area of Saalbach is particularly famous for its diverse and excellent array of pistes as well as its efficient lift system (it's connected to the nearby towns of Leogang and Hinterglemm).

200 kilometres of piste await you here, with intermediates having the best of it and beginners not far behind. Two snowboard parks and marvellous off-piste conditions make it great for snowboarders. To round off the picture, Saalbach was recently voted the "Best Apres Ski Resort in the Alps" by a travel guidebook.
