Ski Resort Guides

Leysin, Switzerland

Lying in a bed of snow on the Vaud in the Aigle district, lies the popular resort of Leysin. Abreast with vertical drops of 100m and 4km pistes, several flock to the ski destination for the winter season. There’s a slope for all abilities, with 50% for intermediate skiiers.

In the 1980s Leysin established itself as a big attraction for snowboarders with an assortment of colleges and schools built in the area. Now, there is a snowpark with pipes trails and kicks. But there’s more to do in the area than just skiing with two sports centres boasting of a range of activities including climbing and ice skating. There’s also a tobogganing park, founded by the Olympic bobsleigh champion, Silvia Giobellina. Whatever you want to do in Laysin, there’s always going to be heaps of snow all season.

Being such an active resort, Leysin doesn’t fall short when it comes to the Apres-ski life. An impressive revolving restaurant sits atop the snowy hills whilst a couple of pizzerias are scattered below. For those who fancy a tipple after the tracks there’s a few bars and pubs or for a late night, Club Vagabound is the place to be.
