Grindelwald, Switzerland

Grindelwald is a classic Swiss mountain town, surrounded by authentic-looking alpine farms and chalets. The village is located at 1,034 metres (3,392 ft) above sea level in the Bernese Alps.

Grindelwald, Switzerland provides extensive skiing and snowboarding to suit all abilities, with half pipe and snow park, and 20 km of dedicated tobogganing runs. The resort links directly into the Wengen ski area at Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen, with Murren also within easy reach on the same lift pass.

There are nursery slopes just above Grindelwald, including the new blue piste at Oberjoch, a "slow speed zone" (Grindelwald). But the most spectacular piste of the region is without doubt the Lauberhorn piste near Wengen, popularised by the World Cup circus.
