Levi, Lapland

Levi is one of the largest ski resorts in Finnish Lapland. The resort is located in Kittila municipality and is served by Kittila Airport and Kolari train station. At a latitude of 67.8 north, it is located approximately 130 km (80 miles) north of the Arctic Circle.


The skiing and snowboarding season in Levi is extended, often lasting up to eight months, from mid-October to early June. The ski school provides instruction in downhill skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing and cross-country skiing. Cross-country skiers have illuminated ski tracks and snow that lingers well into the spring. There are 230 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks and 750 kilometres of snowmobiling tracks in Levi.

The Levi ski resort is a very good family resort with plenty to keep the kids entertained. There is an excellent ski school for the learners, and those who like to take the guided tour. There is also very good quality hire equipment available at the local hire shops, for all abilities and ages. The hire shops in Levi Finland are mainly located near the front slope of the ski resort close to the village centre.
