Les Gets, France

Les Gets lies between Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc, at the heart of Portes du Soleil region. The Les Gets / Morzine ski area links the Chavannes and Mont-Chéry areas to the Pléney et Nyon areas of Morzine.

The name "Les Gets" came from the local dialect words "gitte" or "giette" meaning the corridors used to send logs rapidly down the hillside. Village level is at 1177 metres and the top of the slopes sits at 2350 metres. By road it is only a one hour drivetime from geneva airport and only 550 miles drive from the port of Calais.

The village itself is a typical French village with most activities happening along a compact area within the two streets running up to the pretty church. At the end of the day the shops, bars and tea rooms are packed but night life is more subdued. However a more lively night scene is just a few minutes away in nearby Morzine.
